TEACHING AND ACADEMIC DEVELOPMENT

  • In 2010, has introduced MSc in Financial Mathematics programme into the Department of Mathematics curriculum in collaboration with industrial sector and founder coordinator of the programme. MSc in Financial Mathematics is the first MSc programme introduced by Department of Mathematics. The postgraduate program designed to fulfil industrial needs and trained professionals according to the current financial market strategies.
  • In 2011, has introduced Diploma in Corporate Finance programme into the Department of Mathematics in collaboration with industrial sector and founder coordinator of the programme. Diploma in Corporate Finance is the first extension programme introduced by Department of Mathematics. The Diploma program designed to train based level sector in financial industry.
  • In 2010, Industrial Training for fourth year students was introduced to the Department curriculum and founder coordinator of the program. This course was designed to produce skilful graduates.
  • In 2010, under the four year degree program, Data Mining, E-Commerce, Economics, Accounting, General and Human Management courses were introduced to the Faculty curriculum. In 2012, now involving restructuring the four year degree program collaborative with IT industrial sector in order to fulfil current demand in IT sector.
  • Actuarial Science undergraduate degree program was designed and introduced to Uva Wellassa University.

  • In 2012, has introduced new undergraduate degree program called B.Sc. Financial Engineering under World Bank grant. This program designed to fulfil current market needs and provide opportunity to industrial sector people gain knowledge and degree while working in industry. Was appointed as a coordinator of this program and chairmen of Study Board of B.Sc. Financial Degree Program.
  • In 2012, has established Research & Development Centre for Mathematical Modelling to promote PhD/MPhil research, setup industrial, local/foreign joint research program. Currently act as a Director of the Centre and Group Leader of Mathematical Modelling Research Group.
