The M.Phil and Ph.D. programs offered by the Department of Physics are designed to provide graduates with substantial research experience. M.Phil and Ph.D. degrees are research degrees that require submission of a dissertation. A number of flexible options are available for students to register and read for research degrees. Full time students are normally supported by the supervisors or by the institution that they are employed. Some of our students earn their degrees by solving industry research problems where they are employed. The department also encourage joint research activities between the industry and academia.
