Senior Professor Upul Sonnadara was appointed as the Dean of the Faculty of Science, University of Colombo today (17th July 2020).

Prof. Upul Sonnadara obtained his BSc special degree in Physics, First Class Honours in 1985 from the University of Colombo and, MSc in Physics in 1990 and PhD in Relativistic Heavy Ion Physics in 1992 from the University of Pittsburgh, USA.

He was the Head of the Department of Physics.

Furthermore, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our former Dean Senior Professor Ranjith Mahanama who served as the Dean of the Faculty of Science for nearly 8 years.
