The University of Colombo Library organizes free programs of library orientation tours and classes. Participating in the tours and classes will provide a foundation for your study and research in the university. The classes are designed to make you confident users of the online catalogue, the subject gateways, electronic databases for your area of study and referencing conventions.
The Libraries’ information literacy programs aim to provide members of the University with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively identify, find, evaluate and ethically use information to support academic excellence and lifelong learning. This program emerges from the vision of the University Library.
The Library User Education program is designed to provide students with practical knowledge of research techniques and assist students in becoming independent library users. Face-to face teaching is offered at point of need for specific courses and research assignments upon faculty request.
On request from the students and potential researchers, the library will conduct some workshops on the following subjects. These workshops are mainly designed for young researchers in the field of science.
