The Library conducts a seminar series to the fourth year special degree students in the Faculty of Science during the first semester on “How to use the Library effectively for Undergraduate Research.” The aim of this seminar series is to increase the awareness of the library resources, services and get benefits of them for their final year research and thesis writing.
Topics covered during the seminar series
- How to find information from the Science Library and other electronic databases for undergraduate research
- How to search, select and evaluate information sources (specially online information sources)
- How to do a literature review and
- How to acknowledge information sources avoiding plagiarism using the citation style of the faculty
Students are given hands on experience on information retrieval skills during each session.
