Deployment of HPC System

From stock market analysis to cancer research, complexity of scientific problems has considerably increased in recent decades and high performance computing systems with powerful processors, networks and parallel supercomputers are used worldwide to tackle problems that are very computationally or data-intensive. As we celebrate 100 years of excellence, the Faculty of Science identified the need for computational infrastructures to enhance support to scientific research and dedicated towards establishing a High Performance Computing facility.

The facility will be set up with the funds received through the AHEAD ELTA-ELSE grant and aims to facilitate computer-based learning, teaching, assessment and research among the science students by providing them wide access to advanced computing facilities and shared resources. The facilities proposed to be established under this activity will also facilitate advanced computational science research in the areas such as molecular dynamics simulations, Monte Carlo simulations, quantum mechanical calculations, advanced materials modeling, machine learning, data science and bioinformatics.
