The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the Faculty of Science with a mandate to create a culture that seeks to continually improve the quality of all academic and other activities in the Faculty of Science, University of Colombo. It liaises with the Director, Internal Quality Assurance Unit of the University of Colombo to coordinate university level Quality Assurance activities. IQAC works with faculty standing/ subcommittees such as Curriculum Development and Evaluation Committee, Higher Degree Committee, ITSC Committee, Career Guidance Committee, and the Departments with regard to all quality assurance related activities.

The IQAC officially commenced its activities in 2015. However, the Faculty of Science has being coordinating quality assurance activities via Faculty Quality Assurance Committee since 2008.
