Offered by the Department of Zoology and Environment Sciences
BSc Honours programme in Immunology and Integrative Molecular Biology is a platform that links zoology and biomedical sciences with immunology and molecular biology. It provides a wholistic approach to understand modern day biology and attempt to integrate core disciplines to find more realistic solutions to both biomedical and zoological problems. In addition to traditional course work, the programme contains intensive laboratory and field components that impart wide array of soft and hard skills to students enabling them to follow numerous interrelated disciplines in their future postgraduate or career choices.
Degree Aims
- Provide a strong foundation in theoretical and practical aspects of immunology and molecular biology.
- Develop capacity to apply molecular biological tools in wide array of biological contexts.
- Develop a mindset of multidisciplinary approach in solving biomedical and zoological problems.
- Cater to the emerging local and foreign job market in biomedical and molecular life sciences.

Entry Requirements
GPA of 3.0 for ZL core courses of level I and II and a GPA of 2.67 for BT 1011 (Cell Biology) CH 1012 (Organic Chemistry) and CH 2013 (Biochemistry) are required to be eligible to apply for this programme.
Selection would be based on the weighted aggregate of ZL core courses and BT 1011, CH 1012 and CH 2013 course units.
