Buddhist Society,  Faculty of Science, University of Colombo is an active society in the university since 2009. The executive committee of the Buddhist Society represents all the undergraduates of the faculty. The aim of our society is the spiritual development of the students in the faculty. Buddhist Society of the faculty organizes several activities throughout the year.

The most important and famous event is the annual Vesak function “Shraddhanjalee”. Under this function we hold “Dhamma sermon”, “Dansala” and “Bhakthi Geetha” concert. In addition to that, annual dhamma sermon and also annual pirith chanting ceremony are organized by the Buddhist Society. All of these activities are done with the contribution of all the undergraduates, academic and non-academic staff of the faculty. For this, all the students work as one family irrespective of their race and religion.
