The Field Ornithology Group of Sri Lanka (FOGSL), established in 1976 is a non-for- profit, non-governmental organization attached to the Department of Zoology and Environment Sciences, University of Colombo.

An organization dedicated towards birding, ornithology, and conservation of nature, providing a platform on which people from all wakes of life interact. FOGSL also aims to establish and strengthen links with similar organizations in foreign countries.

FOGSL is the national affiliate of BirdLife International; the largest bird conservation society in the world. FOGSL received the BirdLife conservation achievement award in 1999 for outstanding contributions to the field of bird conservation and study.
