Accelerating Higher Education Expansion and Development (AHEAD) Enriching Learning, Teaching and Assessment (ELTA) and English Language Skills Enhancement (ELSE) Development Projects

Post: Graduate Assistant (to assist in developing online courses and provide technical assistance for digital based teaching, learning and assessment activities of ELTA-ELSE, Faculty of Science, University of Colombo)

Qualifications: A candidate with a degree (Preferably B. Sc.)
The candidate should have good communication skills in English and sound background in computing. A sound background in creating videos, handling video equipment, video editing software and e-learning software applications and equipment would be an added advantage.

Main tasks:
Assist the Dean of the Faculty, Grant Coordinator and the Academic staff of the faculty in,

  • Video recording and developing lectures, practical sessions (upon request of senior academic staff) and uploading them to LMS for student access.
  • Developing and maintaining the online interactive modules.
  • Designing, developing and implementing interactive electronic instructional materials in a student-friendly manner (e.g., animations, interactive elements, video, etc.) using the appropriate tools.
  • Providing support to the academic and technical staff on the use of tools and equipment used for digital based teaching, learning and assessment when required.
  • Maintain effective communication between project coordinator, activity coordinators, consultants and project assistant.

Duration: 1 year

Payments: Basic Salary – Rs. 45,000/= per month
(Applicable EPF and ETF will be paid)

Working hours:
From 8.00 am – 4.00 pm on weekdays. The Graduate Assistant should be available during these hours to the academics for project related activities.
