Centenary 2021 - 100 Years of Excellence
On 21st January 2021, the Faculty of Science, University of Colombo celebrates 100 Years of Excellence. Since its inception, the Faculty of Science proudly upholds an education rooted in inspiration, ethics, and intellectual inquisitiveness. This historical day provides us with an extraordinary milestone to celebrate the glory of our achievements while reflecting on future directions in a rapidly changing landscape of global education. Many activities are lined up to celebrate the centenary year with the participation of students, staff, alumni, and the general public.

Plants nurture and sustain life on earth. As the Faculty of Science celebrate 100 years of excellence in Science, a tree planting challenge was organized by the Department of Plant Sciences to commemorate the event.

The New Building of the Department of Statistics was ceremonially opened on 23rd of April 2021. The opening ceremony commemorates the 100 years of excellence in Science at the University of Colombo
With the thought of commemorating this grand milestone, the Base for Enthusiasts of Environmental science and Zoology (BEEZ), a student society of the Faculty of Science, organized a nature video competition that was open to all undergraduates of the University of Colombo.
